Icons in a Half Shell – Paintings by Quiggly

Icons in a Half Shell is a collection of five original paintings from Howard "Quiggly" Chang's personal archive, reimagining the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles through the lens of 80s and 90s pop culture — icons of music and film reinterpreted alongside the characters that shaped Chang's own design career.

Chang designed toys for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles line at Playmates in his late teens and twenties, during the franchise's golden era. These paintings have been shown at San Diego Comic Con in years past and are now being offered for sale for the first time, hosted by Varner Studios, the studio where his TMNT design work began.

Each subject is hand painted in an edition of five, twenty five originals in total. No two are identical.
