Madonnatello – Icons in a Half Shell, 36x48 Original Painting by Quiggly

The most graphically bold piece in the series, Donatello rendered in the cone bra and blonde ponytail of Madonna's Blonde Ambition era against a night sky.
This is the loudest painting in the series, and it's built that way on purpose. The corset and cone bra are rendered in crisp white and blush pink against a night sky flecked with gold, a palette choice that pushes the figure forward and gives the whole piece a stage-lit quality. The blonde ponytail sweeps across the upper right of the canvas, breaking up what would otherwise be a very symmetrical composition.
It's a painting built on contrast, hard-edged musculature against soft costuming, dark background against bright color, and that tension is what makes it read as confident rather than just loud.
This is an original acrylic painting, one of only 5 in this lot. Each canvas is individually hand-painted, no two are identical.

About the Artist
Quiggly (Howard Chang) spent his early career designing hundreds of TMNT toys during the franchise's golden era, along with Star Trek figures and McDonald's Happy Meal toys. He went on to work across graphic design, tech, and marketing before returning to toys and art through Ancientz, his original collectible universe. Icons in a Half Shell brings him back to where it started, painted with the same instinct for character that built his early career.
About Icons in a Half Shell
These paintings are Howard "Quiggly" Chang's contemporary reinterpretations of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, viewed through the pop culture that shaped their rise. Each work merges a Turtle with an influential figure from 90s music and film, creating pairings that are unexpected on purpose. They're not simple mashups. They're a celebration of the characters, the era, and the joy of recognizing both at once.
Only 5 originals exist of each painting, 25 pieces total across the full series. Every canvas is individually hand-painted and signed by Quiggly. No two are alike.
